Remarks by Cheney, Giuliani, King, Bruno Highlight Great Republican Night
Republicans from across New York State filled the Metropolitan ballroom at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in New York City for the New York Republican State Committee’s Annual State Dinner.
“The Annual State Dinner keeps getting better every year. We were particularly honored to have such a memorable and distinguished group of Republicans– led by our Vice President Dick Cheney– who have served their constituents here in New York and across the nation with dedication and character,” said Chairman Mondello. “It was a great opportunity to once again gather together, reaffirm our principles and plans for the future, and be proud to be New York Republicans.”
The enlightening and entertaining program was filled with patriotism and pageantry, and the standing room only crowd enthusiastically enjoyed remarks from the special guest speakers including Vice President Dick Cheney, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Congressman Peter King and Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno.
“The State Dinner is a great opportunity for us to gather together and talk about what it means to be Republicans, and I am proud that we were able to have a second successful year in what has already become a much-anticipated annual tradition,” said Chairman Mondello. “Additionally, the State Dinner is an important fundraiser that helps ensure we have the resources necessary to support our Republican candidates and drive our core messages of cutting taxes, creating jobs and keeping Americans safe at home and abroad.”
Chairman Mondello reinstated the State Dinner with much success last year after nearly a decade hiatus. Republican supporters filled the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers for the 2007 State Dinner to hear United States Senator John McCain and Mayor Giuliani outline their vision for the future of the country.
“With the type of enthusiastic response we’ve received the first two years, we’re already looking forward to an even better event yet next year,” concluded Chairman Mondello.
