Statement from Joseph N. Mondello, New York Republican State Committee Chairman

With each passing day, New Yorkers grow increasingly frustrated with the inaction, bumbling and lack of results from Governor Paterson and the Democrats in Albany.  Business leaders and opportunity creators are beginning to leave the state in protest of the Democrats’ wrong-headed policies.  As these leaders leave, opportunity is departing with them to other states and countries.

The Democrats should be focused on the real priorities of New York’s families-reducing skyrocketing taxes and creating jobs.  Instead, they are following up their disastrous budget with a wrongheaded focus on fringe issues like gay marriage, dangerous criminal justice rollbacks and questionable election law changes.

Republicans are listening to the people and working to create real solutions to their problems.  Republican legislative leaders are fighting to provide a voice for the many victims of the Democrats’ shortsighted policies.  Grassroots activists are executing training programs and rebuilding our organization at all levels.  And with each passing day, more qualified Republican candidates at every level are stepping forward to stand up for the hard working families and businesses that desperately need results now.

Now is the time for people to make their voices heard against the Democrat policies that are driving our great state and its people out of business.
