Fix New York

New York’s government is in crisis. The policies of borrow, tax and spend have driven nearly two million people from our great state. While our families tighten their belts during the economic crisis, Democratic leadership in Albany refuses to do the same.

Ballooning budgets, rising taxes and mounting deficits have made New York the most expensive place to live, work and raise a family in the nation. Jobs are leaving the state by the thousands for other states and other countries while our families struggle to make ends meet. Our state has some of the highest energy costs in the nation, yet our government does nothing to expand access to affordable power. Our Medicare system is more expensive than California and Florida combined, yet officials in Albany do little to rein in costs, fraud and waste. New York’s local governments are buckling under unfunded mandates from Albany, yet our State budget continues to create programs that keep property taxes soaring. From providing quality education to tax policy, Republicans know that there is a better way.

New York needs now more than ever, the Republican Party’s core values of limited government, local control and fiscal responsibility. FIX NY is a special resource provided by the New York State Republican Party that highlights the best solutions to the chronic challenges faced by New York State.
